Gargano National Park

The Park covers an area of more than 120,000 hectares and hosts an endless number of habitats. Several marine protected areas are encompassed within Gargano, including the Marine Reserve of the Tremiti Islands, unique for its extraordinary seabed life and natural grottoes. Inland on the Gargano Promontory is the last remaining section of the Umbra Forest, a biome that was much more extensive in the pre-historic age.
